Hostica - Offshore web hosting There are numerous examples of cheap web hosting so it's difficult to know who lives up to their spiel about quality of service. Hostica is my recommendation for the situation where money is really tight and there is no requirement to host the content within Australia.

InternetSeer - Website monitoring This company provides full web site availability monitoring for a fee but you can also get a free account that checks every hour that your site is up. You just need to agree to receive their marketing emails (usually 1-2 each week.) Note: For your notification email address don't use one that is part of your hosted domain, because if your server is down then notification emails through that server won't get to you!

Sophos Anti-Virus It may still be debatable whether Mac computers running OS X need to be running anti-virus software, but if you're in a situation where you need it then this commercial grade, but free, product from Sophos may fit the requirement.
